King of the Mountain Podium Sweep

On the foggy and very humid morning of Saturday, March 7, LRC swept the podium at the 11th annual King of the Mountain 1-miler. The race starts just off of Liberty University’s Snowflex parking lot, follows Falwell Rd. to Cut 'Em Off Pass, then turns up the Psycho Path to finish at the top of Snowflex featuring over 300 ft. in elevation gain. It is the final race in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series. President Dondi Costin made a special appearance and competed at this weekend’s competition.
LRC had 5 male participants with an impressive performance. Isaiah White won with a time of 7:09. He was followed by LRC’s President, Cole Schwartz, finishing with a time of 7:17. Josh Stepp, LRC’s VP, was right behind him with a time of 7:20. Matthew Petke ran the brutal climb in 8:22, and Jacob Dryer ran 9:00 both finishing in the top 10.
LRC's female racers also made an outstanding appearance. Kristen Werner won with a time of 8:24. She was followed by LRC’s Deputy Director of Training, Jill Crunkilton, with a time of 9:07. LRC’s NIRCA coordinator, Jessica Dryer, completed the podium sweep with a time of 9:36. Director of Communication, Allie O’Leary, was the 4th woman, winning her age group with a time of 10:25.
